Lake Miltona Has 3 to 8 Inches of Ice
Lake Miltona has 3-8 inches of ice on it.
It varies a little, and the wind blowing across Lake Miltona for the past week hasn’t helped the ice form up, but Lake Miltona is getting set for ice fishing house rentals.
Alexandria Lakes Area and Lake Miltona have about 8 inches of snow on the ground with 2-3 inches coming over the past few days. A few inches have continued to pile up.
Looking at the above chart, you can see around 8 inches total, and it’s not all that compact and dense at the moment.
This is true. The snow is a fluffy 8 inches.
Lake Miltona is one of the larger lakes in Douglas county, and usually is one of the last to get fully ice capped and available for ice fishing rentals.
Late last week, Lake Miltona was ice covered, but ice quality is unknown.
At this stage, walking is still advised on Lake Miltona, until the cold front early this coming week firms it up.
Lake Miltona walleyes can be caught on the steep breaks and close to deep water. We’ll be checking a few of the spots we hit late in the fall, and we expect to find walleyes holding still.
