Mille Lacs is Minnesota’s second-largest inland lake, at just over 132 thousand acres. It gets a lot of attention and significant interest for winter fishing. Population levels remain at the lowest point in 40 years.
Upper Red Lake

Lake of the Woods occupies parts of Ontario, Manitoba and Minnesota. It’s large, clocking in with 65 thousand miles of shoreline and would be the the 6th largest freshwater lake in the U.S. if it were entirely located within the border.
